Our Background
There will be residential and commercial properties that will be restored and sold, rented, or leased to individuals. These properties will be restored to revitalize the neighborhoods while attracting a diverse group of individuals to come back into the city for business and entertainment purposes, as well as to live. It is the goal of the organization to provide some properties to individuals and businesses at an affordable cost for those who may want to remain in their neighborhoods but would not normally be able to afford them.
Our Operation Plan
This plan is designed to direct the operation of 1 Unity Community Development, LLC Managing General Partner/Developer for the period beginning January 2022. In addition to this one year, the board has adopted a planning period beginning January 2021 and will have a similar five-year strategic plan by June 2024. The development of affordable housing for first-time home buyers, persons with disabilities, and the elderly populations will secure and use funding available through gifts and donations of various persons, organizations, and governmental programs.
Our Mission
Develop, Not Displace: The vision of 1-Unity Community Development Corp (1-Unity CDC) is to contribute to the revitalization of residential property and small businesses in Cincinnati’s West End/ Brighton District. There are personal ties to the history of Whiteman Street and the Brighton District among our organization’s leaders. A company partner was raised on the street & knows the area, as well as the residents who still live in the surrounding community.
